Q. How many times can I take an exam?
You are allowed one attempt to pass an exam.
Q. How long will it take for me to receive my ABO Blue Form after I pass my exam?
You will not receive the Blue ABO Form. ABO does not require it for online courses. As a courtesy to you, we will notify the ABO on your behalf that you successfully completed the course requirements. We will send you an email confirmation for your records indicating that you passed the course.
Q. Am I allowed to print the test and course?
Yes! We recommend that you do print the course and test before you take the test.
Complete the test on paper and take the test online.
Q. How can I change my profile?
On the home page, click "sign-in." After you have successfully logged in, select "Edit Profile" from
the choices available. You will need to know your user name and password.
Q. What if I forget my password?
On the sign in page, click on the link that reads "Forgot User Name/Password?" Follow the instructions and a new password will be emailed to your registered email account.
Q. How can I schedule a private seminar for my staff?
Go to the Contact Us page. Send an email to us with your name, telephone number,
number of employees, and topics you are interested in. Seminar topics are not limited to courses on this website.
Topics range from merchandising your store to financial management of your practice.
Q. How many CEC's do I need to renew my certification?
An ABO certified optician is required to complete 12 CEC's every three years to maintain his/her certification.

The American Board of Opticianry tracks the CEC's for every ABO certified optician in the country.

Q. Will there be any shipping costs associated to my order?
On book orders only, a $9.95 shipping and handling charge will be assessed. For any addtional books above one, a $2 shipping charge will be added per book item ordered.
Q. Will sales tax be added to my order?
Since our office is in the state of Texas, we are required to collect sales tax on all orders within Texas. All other state orders will NOT be subject to a sales tax assessment.
